We want PomoBoy to be comfortable and usable for everyone. The App is built with SwiftUI and supports a range of Apple's built-in accessibility features. These features activate automatically based on your device's Accessibility settings — if you don't use them, the App looks and behaves exactly as designed.
Every control has a clear spoken label — for example "Start timer", "Pause music", or "Next track". The timer screen is read as a single phrase, such as "Focus time, 24 minutes 59 seconds remaining, session 2 of 4." Decorative elements, like the animated companion and the music visualizer, are hidden from VoiceOver to keep navigation clean.
Because every control is clearly labeled, you can operate the App hands-free with Voice Control — for instance, by saying "Tap Play music".
Text throughout the App scales with your preferred text size set in iOS. The timer remains legible and the layout adapts at larger sizes.
When Reduce Motion is enabled, the App simplifies its animations — such as the play/pause transition and the resting companion — for a calmer experience.
When this setting is on, selected options (such as durations and your chosen companion) display an additional checkmark indicator, so selection is never communicated by color alone.
The App's text and controls are designed to maintain readable contrast, with strong outlines and dark text on its retro green screen.
PomoBoy's signature retro Game Boy look uses a fixed visual theme, so it does not currently offer a separate Dark Interface. We're always looking to improve, and we welcome your feedback.
